On Friday, Renault-backed premium EV company BeyonCa and Dongfeng Motor announced plans to build Hong Kong’s first vehicle brand’s final assembly factory and worldwide headquarters.
Hong Kong has attempted to diversify and grow other businesses after the 2019 protests and epidemic hit its economy.
“We aim to achieve a breakthrough in Hong Kong’s auto manufacturing industry, becoming the first international premier electric vehicle brand made in Hong Kong,” BeyonCa founder and chairman Weiming Soh stated in Hong Kong.

BeyonCa’s automobiles will be constructed at a Hong Kong government-owned industrial park, but most of the stamping, body welding, and painting will be done in mainland China.
The corporation did not reveal its investment worth.
Beyonca claimed it will start manufacturing in China in 2022 but develop a facility abroad within five years to service the Middle East, ASEAN, and Europe.
